With details straight out from a fairytale… the castle, the lavish organic greenery, pale peach and white flowers, the effortlessly flowing wedding gown – Oh My! A lovely couple from New York chose to celebrate their love with a wonderful fall wedding in Tuscany. With the help of their floral designer they created the most romantic castle wedding in Italy that might even bring a tear to your eye. We are certain that this destination wedding will melt even the coldest of hearts!
Franci’s Flowers Wedding design shared with us: “The newlyweds from New York, Darina and Edwin, were married on September 25th at the Castello di Segalari. The castle was built in the 14th century and is located in Castagneto Carducci, just a few kilometers from the sea. I couldn’t believe how phenomenal it was when I first saw it. Somehow Tuscany still surprises me with fairytales! Darina is absolutely stunning. Her powder white dress and delicately embroidered veil complimented her natural beauty. She asked me to create a romantic style wedding with soft colors, so I used peach, ivory, and white for the theme. I created a fresh and delicate bouquet for her, which you can see was a collection of plump roses, lisianthus, and very green eucalyptus leaves. I incorporated the same style into the bouquets for the three bridesmaids. The wedding party was accompanied by two perfect children, ring bearer and flower girl. The couple professed their love under an outdoor gazebo decorated with two peachy compositions of roses, lisianthius, and freesias, while translucent white drapes softly danced around them. After the ceremony, the aperitivo (Italian-style cocktails and hors d’oeuvres) was held poolside. The reception tables were set with classic dinnerware, gold candlesticks, and just a touch of peach and rose. The sweetheart table was set below a pergola, illuminated by candles set atop mirrors, others hung by peach and gold ribbon, and fairy lights within the shrubbery.”
The bride shared with us: “We had a fall wedding in Castagneto Carducci. We met through my brother and mutual friends years ago before we even started dating. I had no idea this man would one day be my husband! Edwin surprised me with a beautiful proposal at our favorite beach surrounded by our family. I had no idea what was happening when he asked me to go for a walk and when I turned around he was on his knees and each of our family members was holding up a sign that spelled out “will you marry me” . It was incredibly touching.”
“I really wanted the wedding to have a romantic classic and mystical look. My florist Francis and I decided on peach, white and green flowers for my bouquet. It was gorgeous and to me looked so Tuscan! The ceremony we had a gorgeous white draped arch with flower details in the corners. The table settings we decided on golden candelabras due to the wind and just lots of candles surrounding the table. Honestly it was so stunning and I couldn’t have been happier with it. It all felt so romantic to me! there were so many special moments on our wedding day it’s hard to choose…I guess mine would be walking down the aisle with both my parents to my future husband all under the Tuscan sun, surrounded by nature, the sea, our loved ones in this magical venue. It was incredible.”
Bride’s Advise: “My advice would be just remember to have fun in the process and the details, it can be so stressful but the end result will be so worth it. And also take care of everything beforehand so that on your wedding day the focus really is on just you two.”
