The two lovebirds exchanged their vows under a beautiful flower arch with the blue sea as the backdrop . The wonderful location of Lazarou Beach with a breathtaking view was perfect to host their celebration of love and the colors of blush pink, natural green, white, gold and blue matched perfectly and made this location even dreamier. Fresh flower arrangements, lots of candles and hanging flowers and crystals from the ceiling combined with string lights created a very cozy and romantic atmosphere while elegant tableware in gold and blue gave a modern luxurious touch to the decoration. The bride shared with us: “We met at a local bar in Boston. We bumped into each other and realized we were neighbors! Our paths had never crossed up until that point. I always say it was fate that we ran into each other that day. After four years of dating, he proposed to me at the beach where I grew up. Beau diligently followed the tide charts, in order to find the best date and time to propose. He wanted to propose during low tide. We went for a morning barefoot walk through the tide pools with our dog, Wylie. When we were at the edge of the water, Beau asked me to throw the ball for Wylie and when I turned around he was on one knee. Of course I said yes!”

“The ceremony took place at Lazarou Beach Club on the island of Sifnos, Greece.”

“We picked Sifnos because it is such a special place to us. We go to the Greek Islands every summer with my family and wanted to share the magic of Greece with our friends and family. Of all the Greek Islands, Sifnos always held a special place in our heart. It’s authenticity and charm made it an easy choice.”

“The style for our wedding was glam by the coast. I wanted to avoid the typical beach color palette and instead used blush pink, natural green, white and gold. I also brought in accents of blue through pottery. We wanted our wedding to come across as romantic and chic by avoiding some of the cliches attached with a beach wedding. We brought in a lot of natural greenery in the arch and throughout the pergola. We also sought to incorporate some elements of the island and Greece by having a local traditional Greek band for cocktail hour and incorporating different island names in lieu of table numbers. Our wedding planner did an incredible job of taking our ideas and turning it into a reality.”

“We had a beautiful floral arch on the edge of the water. It included peonies, roses and lots of garland. The arch centered the ceremony and was a focal piece throughout the night. The arch was surrounded by candles in the evening at the edge of the deck. I wanted to emphasize the romantic feel by having candles throughout the space. To ensure they stayed lit (since Sifnos is a windy island), we placed them in glass vases. For dinner, we had long white monastery tables with floral runners the length of the table. There was a mixture of garland and flowers that were accompanied by pottery of different shapes and heights, allowing us to incorporate dramatic blues. The tables were positioned under a rustic wooden pergola that was decorated with lots of cascading greenery and a beautiful crystal chandelier in the center. On the deck, we had flowers at every table, chic rugs, poofs and couches around the perimeter of the deck in order to fill the large space. We wanted the dining area to feel romantic and dramatic and the dance floor to feel like a trendy lounge. The best decor element by far was the full moon shining over the water.”

“After taking pictures, Beau and I returned to the venue by a decorated local fishing boat. We approached the dock right at dusk with sparklers on the boat and the full moon at our back. Our friends and family were waiting for us, dancing to our favorite song as we arrived.”

“I wanted a dress that was traditionally untraditional. I knew I was looking for lace, but not something too cookie cutter. I wanted it to be form fitting and unique. The Sarah Sevens dress I chose had sheer cut-outs down the side, a body skimming skirt with a sight train and slit that would make it easy to dance. I wanted to avoid a long train given the hot Greek climate, so I went with a long cathedral silk veil instead.”

Bride’s Advice: “My advice to any bride planning her wedding now would be to have a vision, know what elements are the most important to you, and be flexible and creative when challenges arise. For our destination wedding, we focused so much on making sure that our wedding was a great time for our guests and as easy logistically as possible. The upfront work really paid off. Most of all, don’t lose sight of what the day is really about and that is you and your fiancee!”
