Rock & Roll Wedding Photography
Image of the Week
They say Rock & Roll is as Rock & Roll does and oh man did Mercy & Reuben take this to heart. Both Mercy and Reuben are musicians and they decided early into the planning of their wedding that they would carry this theme into their wedding, making it as personal as possible. They even twisted my arm (super hard) to buy some music themed props for the photobooth. Bongos Ahoy! So when they told me that they were ditching the first dance and having a “first jam” together – I might have given a little air punch.
Listen, if you don’t love dancing but you love singing, playing the guitar and generally rocking out… then do that. It is your day, you should do it exactly as you want.
Weddings should be a party where you and your partner get married and celebrate your love – nothing more than that. All those “traditions”? They are great if you want to do them. But don’t be tied down to them – especially if it isn’t “your style”. A wedding is often the biggest party a couple ever throws in their entire life. Do you want that party to be one that goes down in the books as a “legend” or do you want to feel like you are going through the motions and following the rules?
For those about to rock…..we salute you!
