Art & Design Magazine
around this time last year, as shown by the video below, the Royal West of England Academy, in Bristol, ran a retrospective of the work of radical figurative artist Robert Lenkiewicz (31 December 1941 – August 5, 2002).
I personally love Lenkiewicz's art and his philosophy of 'artist as chronicler of the human condition', rather than just some benefactor'd whore selling his 'talent' to the highest bidder.
Anyway, I've done a couple of artorial featurettes on specific artists who exhibit with Black Sheep Galleries here on the High Street in central Oxford. I do this because I love those specific artists they show. I do this off my own back, without payment, without agenda (though if Black Sheep wanna use Free Planet's DONATE button I certainly won't try to stop them). I do what I do because of Creativity, Passion and Kinship, and sharing that with You The People is, for me, worthy enough to continue to struggle, to live.
Here are a few examples of the paintings being exhibited by Black Sheep in their current Lenkiewicz show, I hope you agree with me that they're just stunning.
