Story: Robert starts as we meet the Otto family, Jenny (Garton), Paul (Bane) and Gene (Allen) who let their nanny Agatha (Haley) go. Agatha isn’t happy with this decision and leaves Gene with an extra toy, a doll called Robert.

It doesn’t take long for Jenny to notice odd things around the home and when a new nanny is attacked, she gets concerned. Gene claims Robert is committing the odd moments, but Jenny isn’t convinced, believing it is her son playing up after they sacked Agatha.

Verdict on Robert

Robert is a horror mystery which follows an unexpected series of events surrounding a doll. It wants so hard to create any sort of horror and ends up being very dull. Nothing happens and if it does, it only tends to show the aftermath of any events.

When we see the killer doll movies, we need some spark going on, not a film that spends more time questioning one character’s mindset. The most amazing thing about this is that it spans off to create a franchise, despite the doll doing nothing. The performances don’t help either, where nobody is overly convincing with what they have to do in the film.

Final Thoughts Robert is a slow, bland killer doll movie.
