Story: Roadside starts when Dan (Marrero) and Mindy (Stegeman) travel across the country. However, when they get shot at by a mysterious gunman, they get stuck on the side of the road. Dan tries to learn what the gunman wants, in a confrontation between the pair.

However, the gunman has the advantage and keeps one step ahead of the game with what he wants Dan to do. It ends up sending Dan down a path he doesn’t want to talk about, which could ruin his life.

Verdict on Roadside

Roadside is a mystery horror following a couple who get captured on the side of the road by a psychotic gunman. They must confront him if they are to escape. However, he isn’t going to let them go without them playing his twisted games.

This movie has a nice idea by stranding the leading couple. We have seen this type of movie before, where a gunman holds people in a singular location. This side of the story is done well. However, things don’t seem to go very far, and it doesn’t seem to reveal enough for what the bigger picture is. In the end, the tension is slow and doesn’t seem to get going to the leaves you would expect.
