Legendary Italian composer Ennio Morricone has passed away aged 91 in Rome.
Affectionately known as 'Maestro' he is involved in some of the most memorable scores in film history.
Once Upon a Time in America, The Untouchables, Cinema Paradiso, The Hateful Eight. His haunting melodies for Sergio Leone's trilogy of westerns A Fistful of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. A lot of these films I have caught up with watching over the past few months and the scores blew me away each and every time.
He was presented with an honorary Oscar in 2007 and then went on to win for The Hateful Eight.
