Riding for a Reason

Premier lends a hand

One of the things I have learnt before about charity projects is that they truly do bring out the best in people. I discovered it with The Littlest Star, and I am already finding the same with the #richard100 project. People with all kinds of skills and all kinds of connections seem only too pleased to pitch in.

Yesterday was no exception. Premier radio heard about my cycle challenge earlier this week, and yesterday morning they interviewed me all about it. In the short interview (which you can hear below) I was able to talk about both these projects. The intimacy of radio allows you to get right into people’s homes and speak to them face to face. My job in yesterday’s interview was to encourage each listener to find something good they can do, tune out the voices of discouragement…and then get on and do it!

With the interview in the bag, I cycled off to Princess Alice Hospice to meet the team. There are still over two months’ of training to go, and a lot more fundraising to go – but things are on the way.
