Ridiculous Item Of The Day: House Dems Propose Bill To Pressure 'Redskins' To Change Name
Definitely the most ridiculous item of the day as House Democrats propose the Non-Disparagement of American Indians in Trademark Registrations Act of 2013, which would prevent the term "Redskins" from being trademarked.
The Non-Disparagement of American Indians in Trademark Registrations Act of 2013 is co-sponsored by Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-D.C.), and comes days after a federal trademark panel heard arguments over whether the team name was a slur. The panel could potentially overturn the team's trademark, which would erode profits by allowing other businesses to sell apparel and goods featuring the Redskins name. Earlier this month, Norton said the team "should consider" a new name.

The U.S. has over $16 trillion in debt. Deficits have hit over a trillion for four years in a row and is set to top a trillion this year. Gas prices are rising. Unemployment  has stayed above 7.5 percent for over four years. U6 total unemployment is over 14 percent. GDP growth is dismal and nowhere close to where it needs to be.
Those are just a few of the problems the nation is facing and Democrats are wasting time on a football team's name and trying to pressure them into changing it?
What is wrong with these people?
