Rick Schwartz a/k/a the Domain King has done it again setting yet another domain name sales record selling the domain name 9595.com for $180,000.
This is the highest reported four number (NNNN.com) domain sale of all time and only the 5th reported NNNN.com domain to sell in the six figures.
Rick hand registered the domain in 1998 for $70.
The highest publicly reported sales of a four number domain name (NNNN.com) before this sale are:
0060.com which sold for $120,000 in December 2014.
8788.com which sold for $106,000 in February 2015 through DomainHoldings.
9555.com which sold for $102,000 in April 2015 at though eNaming.
1001.com which sold for $100,000 in December 2013 though Sedo.
So we are not just talking about a new record sale, but one which exceed the old record holder by some 50%.
Rick’s sale is also 80% higher than the sale of pretty similar domain, 9555.com which just sold a few months ago.
Rick sold Porno.com for $8,888,888 back in February this year, which set a few other records and is still the highest reported sale of 2015 (with my 345.com coming in 2nd at $800K).

This is fantastic. Although i never heard of the website but the ROI from $70 to $180,000 is just amazing. His growth must have been exponential.
