Ri Su Yong Meets with Mozambique Delegation

Workers’ Party of Korea [WPK] Vice Chairman for International Affairs and WPK Executive Policy Council Member Ri Su Yong met with Eliseu Joaquim Machava and a delegation of the Mozambique Liberation Front Party [MLFP] on May 24 (Tuesday).  Also in attendance was Pak Kun Gwang, deputy director of the WPK International Affairs Department, other WPK Central Committee officials and members of the MLFP delegation.

At the meeting, participants “informed each other of the activities of their parties and exchanged views on the matter of further developing the bilateral relations and other matters of mutual concern.”  Eliseu Joaquim Machava, the MLFP secretary-general, “extended warm congratulation to supreme leader Kim Jong Un (Kim Cho’ng-u’n) on his election as chairman of the WPK at its 7th congress on behalf of Mozambican President Filipe Mwussi” and stressed “that the MLFP would expand and develop the friendly and cooperative relations with the WPK at a high level.”

Also on May 24, the WPK Central Committee hosted a reception for the MLFP.  Ri Su Yong expressed “deep thanks to the Mozambique Liberation Front Party for sending full support and encouragement to the WPK and the Korean people in their struggle for building a thriving socialist nation and reunifying the country” and noted that the “WPK would make positive efforts for steadily boosting the traditional relations of friendship and cooperation with the Mozambique Liberation Front Party.”  Eliseu Joaquim Machava said that “through his visit to the DPRK, he more keenly felt that the history and tradition of the friendly relations between the two countries provided by President Samora Moises Machel and President Kim Il Sung (Kim Il-so’ng) are developing generation after generation” and he expressed “the first stand of his party and government to develop the friendly and cooperative relations between the two parties and two countries in various fields in a more extensive and profound manner.”

The MLFP delegation also visited Mangyo’ngdae and the Sci-Tech Complex during their visit.
