Plot: The history of the film unfolds in the 1990s in Ukraine. The protagonist – a bandit nicknamed Rhinoceros – falls into the grip of the Ukrainian criminal world in the 1990s and begins his bloody path, which leads him not where he expected.

Story: Rhino starts as we see a young Rhino (Filimonov) as his childhood takes him to adulthood, with a wonderful drawn out sequences where we see the ups and downs from his life, before the adult version of Rhino shows what has happened in his life.
Rhino has a violent side, never being afraid to get himself involved in a fight, which will cause his problems, as he gets caught up in a fight with the wrong people, a criminal group in Ukraine run by Tucha (Povolotskiy), one that sees the fight in him, putting him on a dangerous path.
Thoughts on Rhino
Thoughts – Rhino is an action thriller diving into the Ukrainian criminal underworld, as one man finds himself getting caught in this world, which will cost him more than he could ever imagine. Rhino will use an excellent opening sequence, showing Rhino’s childhood, how his life was evolved to give him the violent side. This will show how the life Rhino will spiral out of control with what he gets involved with, leading to the violent nature he has inside of him. This will lead to path many of the violent characters in gang movies will. Where Rhino shines is with the unique is the camerawork, which will always look to spiral around the action that is unfolding. The performances in Rhino are strong, where we do get to see emotion driven into the leading character of the film. Rhino will not hold back with any of the violence either, never relenting from giving a brutal look into the violent world.

Final Thoughts – Rhino is a relentless violent gangster movie.
