Description:
Aria has lived her whole life in the protected dome of Reverie. Her entire world confined to its spaces, she's never thought to dream of what lies beyond its doors. So when her mother goes missing, Aria knows her chances of surviving in the outer wasteland long enough to find her are slim.

Then Aria meets an outsider named Perry. He's searching for someone too. He's also wild - a savage - but might be her best hope at staying alive.

If they can survive, they are each other's best hope for finding answers.

My Rating:
Review: Under the Never Sky (Audiobook)
My Review: Aria and Perry both end up exiled from their respective domains.  Aria is framed for a terrible crime.  She must fight to live in a new scary world and find her mother who can hopefully provide some answers.  Perry is blamed for the kidnapping of his young sick nephew.  Fighting the pull of leadership and authority, he sets out to find his young nephew and return him to his family.  Aria and Perry are stuck together on their journey.  Aria is frustrated and disgusted to be around such a "savage" and Perry is frustrated with Aria's inexperience and inability to care for herself.  Over time and much adventure they both learn to conquer their prejudices but find their journey has just begun.
On the story...
Under the Never Sky has a more science fiction feel to it.  It successfully intertwines adventure, romance, and character growth.  I enjoyed the adventure most, appreciated the character growth, and found the romance to be just okay.  I started off finding Aria selfish and bit..not so smart.  This is intentional and a product of her upbringing but was still a bit difficult to follow her actions.  I was happy to see her change and grow.  I liked Perry from the beginning.  Aria and Perry's adventures were difficult, surprising, and entertaining.
On the narrator...
The story alternates between Perry and Aria's point of views.  I enjoyed Ms. Flagler and believe she did a good job with both.  I liked her voices for male characters best.  Luckily there were mostly male characters in the book.
Overall,
An entertaining sci-fi audio that can be enjoyed in print or audio form.  The action and redeeming characters mad this an interesting read.
