{Review} Tinybeans – Free iPhone App

By Meltingmoments

Recently, I have discovered a great app from Apple that I am very excited about.

I take loads of photos of B1 and B2. I love capturing not only the very special moments and milestones, but also all the little, everyday moments. The silly things they do, the cute and the funny faces, the tears and tantrums and every other wonderful moment of their lives.

I try to keep up with uploading them to my computer and making copies of them on discs, though my collection gets so big that each time I do it it is a time consuming task.

This morning I came across Tinybeans.

This free iPhone app lets you take photos of your children and your family and save them to your own daily journal.

They are automatically uploaded to your own private online journal on the Tinybeans website (www.tinybeans.com.au).

You can invite your family and friends to view your journal and you can even let them contribute by adding to your journal. The website also allows grandparents who may not have an iPhone to view your journal. It is a great way for relatives that may live far away to keep up to date with the daily lives of their loved ones as they grow.

You can choose to share each photo on Facebook, allowing more friends to see the moments you have captured.

There is a reminder alert that you can set for any time of day you like, in case you are busy like me and might forget to upload your daily photo. You can set this alert to go off daily or weekly.

The screen layout is like a calendar, showing each day of the month and you can scroll backwards and forwards through the months to view any month you wish. I have started going back through the months and adding photos to the days they were taken, meaning I can backdate my journal, I am not limited to starting my journal from today.

You can upload a photo you have taken previously by choosing ‘camera roll’ or take one whilst in the app by choosing ‘camera’. There is the option to add captions for each photo.

From the website you can go to the Tinybeans Blog which has some great posts. The latest being: ‘Top tips for photographing kids’.

I love this idea so much that I have been sharing my find with all my family and friends.

It will be great for my in laws as they are not on Facebook and miss out on seeing the day to day photos I post of the funny things the twins do.

For a photo lover like me this is the perfect app.
