Review: The Knife Restaurant in Miami, Fl

Are you always looking for new restaurants in Miami? We recently visited The Knife and had ourselves a wonderful, casual yet romantic meal. The Knife is an Argentine “parilla” style steakhouse with several locations in South Florida. We chose to visit the Hallandale location. The visit was so pleasant for us, it’s earned a spot on our  ”Where to eat in Miami” list.

The “parilla” in action

First things first, the knife is a great meaty buffet :) This Argentinian restaurant has many varieties of meats, including steaks, sausages, veal, pork, chicken, and more exotic foods like sweet breads and blood sausage. They are all prepared on a large grill, or “parilla”. While the focus is the meats they offer much more.  There are delicious grilled vegetables, sides, a cold salad bar, an included dessert, plus a bottle of house wine per person. Yes! per person. All that for just UNDER $30 each.

From the moment we sat down our server, Ramiro, was on his game. We never had empty glasses. Our empty plates were removed with great haste. Our sever made sure to get us kitchen orders with prompt delivery so that everything came out piping hot. He was friendly and attentive the entire evening and we never felt rushed.

When you first are seated you can make your choice of wine. Kenin had the house red and I had the white. You can also choose beer if you are not a wine lover, and there is a comprehensive wine list if you prefer something other than the house selections. Once we ordered our  wine we ventured over to the buffet. We started off our meal with a bowl of soup. The daily special  was a creamed vegetable broth with a variety of garnishes that can be added.Their soups are amazing and I have never had one that I didn’t like.

A few of the many options

We then went on to the salad bar with all of their cold delights of antipastos and creamy potatoes.  There are also a variety of hot sides that can be ordered from the kitchen. Just ask your server what the restaurant offers, but our favorites are the sweet potato fries and the steak fries.

Once we had our fill of greens and sides we moved on to the variety of steaks and sausages. We enjoyed quite a few different cuts of steak along with other delicious offerings like plum stuffed pork and bacon wrapped chicken. Each item is grilled  just right, then kept on the grill awaiting your selection. You can also request a steak made to order if  you prefer it very rare or well done. This meal is definitely a slow-paced meal so make sure you have nowhere to be for a few hours when dining at the knife.

These Crepes are amazing!

The restaurant has a slew of amazing desserts. From cheesecakes to crepes and everything in between, you will not be disappointed. After agonizing over the choices, I settled for the crepes filled to bursting with dulce de leche and Kenin had a dulce de leche roll with vanilla ice cream. We ended our meal with a glass of champagne and relaxed a bit in the serene atmosphere. Perfect ending to a perfect meal.
