While I enjoyed this read, my biggest complaint is the lack of progress made during this installment. I have serious doubts that Ms. Cass will be able to wrap this up satisfactorily. The rebels are worse but not enough was revealed about their motives or identity. I like how there is a serious quandaries and no easy answers in this series. It's one of the things that draws me to this series the most. BUT... at this point the amount unknown makes me nervous about the last book.
Also, America was a bit annoying. She needs to work on her decision-making skills. I'm not sure how she could be so selfish considering her background. So there's all this negativity. You'd think it was just okay. But it was more than okay. It was pretty darn good. It just wasn't as good as the first one. I really enjoyed it. I like the concept and I never know what will happen next. I like Maxon and I am intrigued by the world.
On the narrator...
I love Ms. Rubinate. She voices the strong young female so well. She's also able to bring in the male voices quite well. She's a winner.
Overall, I still love this series but I'm worried that we (all the readers) are being set-up for disappointment. Perhaps this review will have to be rewritten after I've completed the series.
