When I received an invite to Stories -The Brew Chapter (STBC), the newly opened microbrewery in BTM layout, the teetotaller in me wondered whether I should accept the invite or not. But, when I read that it was the “green”est brewery” in namma city housing a whopping 40,000 different plants, I had to go. And true to its name, STBC is a haven for not only beer lovers but plant lovers too. With a plethora of trees, shrubs, potted plants and herbs, STBC offers an ambience that is pleasant, invigorating and replete with refreshing and warm vibes.
Inside Stories – The Brew ChapterColossal space
With a massive capacity of 600 seats spread across 25,000 square feet, STBC is rather huge. When here, one can choose from the communal seating space or the wooden picnic tables and chairs with wrought iron wheels, or even the vibrant three seaters along the edge of the roof for great views.
Seating at Stories – The Brew ChapterAs you enter, one can feel an expanse of fresh air and reduced air temperature thanks to the all pervading greenery coupled with a small water body. With glass ceilings and open skies, this verdant space has an alluring charm during the late evenings as well. Fairy lights and hanging contemporary lamps in the form of neon green rain drops, that consume minimal energy transform the vibe of the place at night. STBC also has a penthouse section that is a great option for the evenings.
Penthouse at Stories – The Brew ChapterDelectable fare
While the craft beer is expected to be flowing from July, the range of cocktails on the menu is quite large. From the Brambleberry, a gin, mint and crushed ice cocktail to the season appropriate Mango Rita to Deep purple a concoction of secret spices, honey syrup and gin to the signature The Stories Untravelled, you can find it all here. From mojito to margarita to wine to champagne to vodak, the drinks menu is fairly exhaustibe. There are mocktails too and I settled for a orange flavoured Stories Delight which made for a gratifying drink.
Moctails at Stories – The Brew ChapterThe main course menu again leaves you spoilt for choice with Indian, continental and oriental fare. Starters include authentic Indian specialities like Awadhi dahi kebabs, Amritsari fish kebabs and sofiyani chilli broccoli. There are regional starters too like onion rings dusted with Madras curry and Mangalorean tawa prawns. We tried the Palak Chole ki Tikki, Paneer Papdi Roll and the Cheese Garlic Bread all of which were the perfect appetizers to the meal.
Appetizers at Stories – The Brew ChapterApart from salads, pastas, pizzas, burgers there is a comprehensive Indian spread. We sampled the spinach and cheese roulade, makhan wali dal with rotis along with penne pasta in arrabiata sauce.
