Review: Onyx ( Lux #2) by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Being connected to Daemon Black sucks…

Thanks to his alien mojo, Daemon’s determined to prove what he feels for me is more than a product of our bizarro connection. So I’ve sworn him off, even though he’s running more hot than cold these days. But we’ve got bigger problems.

Something worse than the Arum has come to town…

The Department of Defense are here. If they ever find out what Daemon can do and that we’re linked, I’m a goner. So is he. And there’s this new boy in school who’s got a secret of his own. He knows what’s happened to me and he can help, but to do so, I have to lie to Daemon and stay away from him. Like that’s possible. Against all common sense, I’m falling for Daemon. Hard.

But then everything changes…

I’ve seen someone who shouldn’t be alive. And I have to tell Daemon, even though I know he’s never going to stop searching until he gets the truth. What happened to his brother? Who betrayed him? And what does the DOD want from them—from me?

No one is who they seem. And not everyone will survive the lies…

Now, I know this post is a bit delayed because we all know that I definitely read Onyx as soon at is was released (8/14). You know when you read a book, and you love it but you aren’t sure how to explain what it is you loved about it? Well, I felt I needed to let it soak in, and maybe read it a few more times… :) So now with the release of Opal just around the corner I really need to get this review up, because people, if you haven’t started these books yet you are missing out! That being said, go read the Obsidian, because the rest of this review does contain spoilers, but only for Obsidian. I will not spoil Onyx, I promise!

Onyx starts right where Obsidian left off, huge battle with the Arum remember? So now Kat has all the feelings towards Daemon ( not that she didn’t feel something for him before) but she is having trouble discerning if his feelings are genuine or just a side effect of the healing he did.  There is so much going on in this book, because while Kat is having this internal and VERY external (ohhhh the chemistry) battle with the draw she feels to Daemon she also has  big problems. I loved that she is developing powers, in Obsidian she actually saved the day ( not a weak little girl!!)  and I love that her strength is continuing in Onyx. I really recommend reading Shadows before you pick up Onyx because I felt like there was foundation laid down in it that Onyx leans on. As the story carries on, there is some twist and surprise appearances. My stress level was through the roof because it seemed like more kept being revealed and I just needed to know everything would be okay!  All the while their  relationship was pushing at both Kat and Daemons comfort zones and it was pretty steamy;) I don’t want to spoil anything so I’m making this a short review because its very easy to get caught up and say something in excitement. So please everyone go read and then lets talk and gush about this series!
