He's from the House of Triton, god of the sea, and he's searching for a girl with the gift of Poseidon to save his brother from marrying a fraud. Emma is a human. Or so she thinks. When Emma meets Galen on the beach, they both sense a sizzling chemistry. But can Galen convince her that she holds the key to his kingdom - without letting on that he's falling for her?
Review From the very beginning, it starts with a bang. There's an embarrassing incident with a hot guy, then someone dies. To me, that's the perfect way to start a book. Let something traumatic happen from the start instead of waiting until the end. I hated that it happened but it paved the way for a great story.
Emma is such a fantastic character. I enjoyed her head strong attitude and unwillingness to give into Galen. There was just the right amount of romance for me as I'm not really into that kind of thing. The fact that they didn't immediately pounce on each other and say "I love you" made me happy because I'm getting so sick of THAT story. I loved every single character in this book but Rayna was probably my favorite. Her attitude towards Toraf in the beginning had me cracking up.
The story alternates between Emma and Galen's point of views, which I LOVE. It makes me feel like I'm inside their head and gives me more insight as to how everything will play out. This book kept the love of mermaid books going. It was the third I've read and I'm still excited to read more. Oh, and the ending was really great! If you like mermaids (or Syrena... they hate being called mermaids) then you will definitely enjoy this book. I can't wait to read the next one!
Some others I recommend are Wake by Amanda Hocking and Wrecked by Anna Davies.
Quote(s) “Oh, and I need to known where Jersey is and if I have enough money to buy it.”
I wish I could say this about a state. However, my choice would be California. Or if we're really dreaming big, Japan.
Author
Grew up in a town called Niceville. No, seriously. I graduated from Niceville High School. So did J Lo's second husband. And the guy that plays Aqua Man on Smallville dated my best friend.
Now I indulge my tendency to lie by writing the lies down and selling them to publishers. Well actually my agent does that. One of my lies is called OF POSEIDON. The sequel is called OF TRITON.
And um. I also write adult fiction under pen name Anna Scarlett. One of the adult lies is DEGREES OF WRONG.
That is all

And thennn..
Do you like mermaid stories? I've only read a few but they're quickly becoming some of my favorite paranormal creatures. I haven't read one I didn't like yet. What's your favorite so far?
