Review: KBB Luscious Locks Hair Mask

By Savvybrown @savvybrownblog

Y’all know I LOVE KBB products, because they are chock full of healthy ingredients and they really work! I haven’t been to Karen’s Body Beautiful in awhile, so a couple of weeks ago I was thrilled to find her Luscious Locks Hair Mask at the bottom of by goodie bag from Amazing Botanicals Pop-Up Salon Event last month. I just got around to trying it, so here’s my review:

Review: KBB Luscious Locks Hair Mask

Karen’s Body Beautiful Luscious Locks Hair Mask $25.00 (8oz)

Ingredients: Purified Water, Aloe Butter, Jojoba Oil, Agave, Vegetable Wax, Vegetable Glycerin, Aloe Vera Juice, Panthenol, Arnica, Calendula, Echinacea, Nettle & Horsetail Extracts, Carrot Seed Oil, Rosemary Essential Oil, Arnica, Shikakai & Amla Extracts, Vitamin E & Natural Enzymes.

Last week, I was in a rush and I had forgotten to do my usual olive oil pre-poo, but I HAD to wash my hair, so I did my new washing routine and toweled it dry just until it was damp and not sopping wet. I then applied Karen’s Body Beautiful Luscious Locks Hair Mask liberally all through my hair from root to tip and then put my hair in about 6 BIG twists. The has the consistency of thick conditioner, with a lot of slip! (But don’t worry, there’s no cones!) After applying, I threw on a plastic shower cap and wrapped my head up in two scarves. Then I ran errands for an hour. When I came back and took all the head gear off, I instantly noticed a difference. My hair was all silky and smooth and as I rinsed it out, my hair was still detangled and curly. I then towel-dried to dampness again and twisted my hair as usual. Since I’m all about time-saving techniques , I think the next time I use it, I’ll try it in the shower as a detangler/conditioner AND deep condish, and leave it in for only 30 mintues, to see if I can knock a few minutes off my routine.

Don’t get me wrong, I still like my budget-friendly olive oil treatments, but I will definitely be alternating with this product. My hair is so soft and healthy feeling this week, I can’t keep my hands out of it!

RATING: 4 Smart!* – Great product, great ingredients, great results. (The only reason I didn’t give it a 5 is because of the price point)

You can find this product on the KBB site.

*Savvy Ratings: 5=Savvy 4=Smart 3=Suitable 2=Satisfactory 1=Stupid

I’ve met KBB owner Karen Tapping before, but in the middle of writing this review, I had a chance to see her again (and ogle at her beautiful skin and Fab afro) at the Natural’s Night Out Event (there will be a bigger post on that soon). I’m sure I was rambling like an idiot (and she probably thought I was out of my mind) but she’s one of the few people that makes me say “I wanna be her when I grow up!” *bounces*
