I’ve been raving about Giovanni’s Smooth As Silk Conditioner for awhile now, so when there was a twofer sale at Marshalls including the shampoo in the same line, I snatched it up. Here’s my review:

Ok so this product freaked me out at first because it has A LOT of ingredients, the good news is I recognize most of them, and the good stuff is all near the top of the list. Which means that they are majority ingredients. This shampoo definitely cleaned my hair well. I only washed with it once (which is all you need for a regular cleaning really) but a little lathered well and got my scalp really clean. My only complaint with this shampoo is that it left my hair a bit dry. I don’t know if that’s because of the orange and lemongrass extract or because of the formulation. I just kind of expected it to be as rich and moisturizing as the conditioner. I detangled as usual, and put my hair in twists with my new Shea Moisture Deep Treatment, and kept it moving.

My overall opinion? Meh. This stuff does the basics, but I probably won’t buy it again because of the dryness. I also used it as a body wash when I ran out of soap the other day and it actually worked well for that.

RATING:3=Suitable – Decent product, good ingredients, multi-use product. Left hair kind of dry.

As always. This product is available in the Savvy Shop
