Odd Future is a Rap group out of California. On Thursday, August 2, 2012 Odd Future’s Domo Genesis, along with producer The Alchemist released their mix tape “No Idols”. They are famous for their explicit and sometimes offensive lyrics. This is Domo’s third project; his other projects are “Rolling Papers” and “Under The Influence”. This project has features from fellow Odd Future members Earl Sweatshirt and Tyler The Creator, and many others.

In the opening track “Prophecy” he rhymes about his friends possibly being jealous of his success. In the song he says, “Shit, I’m closer to my dreams, bruh, I can even smell it/ so close sometimes I even notice that my friends are jealous”. On his song “All Alone”, he rhymes about feeling lonely despite being surrounded by people. On “Me and My Bitch” he rhymes about “his girl”, which is really marijuana. The song is an ode to his need for and love of marijuana.

The tape is a very chill and is quite the dope rap project. Domo Genesis shows his lyrical ability as well as his growth from project to project. I definitely recommend the download to any Odd Future fan. Domo Genesis did his thing on the project and The Alchemist composed some nice beats to accomplish Domo’s lyrics. Together they created a very enjoyable project.
