Review: Celeteque Matte Lip Stick in Cherry

By Berrycreamie @mhi1106

Have you ever been wrong about a product? I mean, you thought that it was bad when you first tried it so you put it in the forgotten-stash, but months later you remembered that you have it and gave it another go, only this time, you realize that it's actually nice. In short, a love-hate relationship with a certain product. Celeteque Matte Lip Stick made me realize that you simply can't hate a lipstick. They are always worth a second chance, yes?

I don't know when it started, but a chubby crayon type of lipstick sure is a hit these days. Almost every brand has a version of their own - even Celeteque DermoCosmetics decided to get in the trend. There are three available colors of Matte Lip Stick: Cherry, Pink, and Peach. I have Cherry.

What makes Celeteque Matte Lip Stick different to others? This lipstick has Vitamin E that moisturizes the lips, Bisabolol that reduces flaking and restore suppleness, and Candelilla Wax that nourishes the lips. Yeah, this one is packed with powerful skin care ingredients. That's what Celeteque makeup line promises, after all - makeup and skincare in one.

I expected a more reddish shade for Cherry, yet it looks like a Barbie pink than cherry to me. I have seen the reviews of the other two shades and it seems like all of them are pretty the same. Anyway, cherry reminds me of a pink rose, bright and beautiful.

We know how matte lipstick works, they can be quite drying, and Celeteque Matte Lip Stick is no exemption. It can accentuate the lines of the lips if not applied properly. I recommend blending it using your fingers after applying the lipstick on the lips for a less dry-looking lips. Don't worry about transferring the lipstick to your fingers because it is pigmented enough not to be noticeable (no need for another layer after blending). It can also stay for up to 3-4 hours.

This lipstick's pigment is impressive. It's very opaque that one swipe is enough to give you a beautiful color. It is creamy and thick. I can be drying, but it doesn't feel like it at all. So yeah, no heavy feeling compared to other matte lipsticks out there. Still, prepping your lips with lip balm before using it is a must.
