Well Easter products are already in the supermarkets so I thought that it would be rude to not start sampling them and I found these Cadbury's Egg 'n' Spoon in Tesco the other night. It says "new" on the box and I haven't seen them before but apparently these have been around in Europe for a while and I believe that they are sold under the Milka brand.
I love the purple egg box packaging, I just think that it is a great idea and it looks great with the gold and brown foil wrapping on the eggs. The box contains 4 eggs, around the same size as a Cadbury Creme Egg and 2 small purple spoons and there is even a little holder for these in the center of the box.
The eggs are described as milk chocolate, filled with a fluffy milky mousse center. Each egg contains 195 calories and the box of 4 cost me £3.99. The instructions are to peel off the paper, bite off the top and then spoon out the center using the spoon provided.
The top comes off pretty easy once you bite into it and the spoon is just the right size to get to the delicious filling. The filling is a lovely smooth, vanilla flavoured mousse and really does taste good. Once you have spooned this out, you are then left with a lovely chocolate egg. I did find these quite messy to eat despite the spoon, as you have to hold the egg so it did start to melt on the outside. This isn't a major issue for me and I suppose you could use an egg cup if you really wanted!
Verdict The presentation of Cadbury's Egg 'n' Spoon is fantastic, this is a great novelty product and the eggs taste lovely! I will definitely be buying these again although I must say I don't get the logic behind only having 2 spoons for 4 eggs!
