Ever since Benny was introduced, it was clear that he and Dean had an interesting rapport. After all, this was a vampire that Dean was willing to let live, and Dean has fallen back into his colder, less empathetic default since his return from Purgatory. We know Benny saved Dean’s life more than once in Purgatory, but this episode gives even more insight into why they stand together as allies.
