It doesn’t help that the investigations are aired out of order, in short runs, so what seems like it ought to be a fresh start for the show with lots of energy might have been filled in the middle or towards the end of a long, grueling production run. Whatever the case may be, I came out of this mid-season premiere feeling like the team lacked a consistent vision and a low-energy tone, and since GHI has always been the underdog of the franchise, that’s not going to help their cause.
