This episode definitely highlights the difference in tone, though I can’t help but think that the editing was designed to maximize the creepy. Barry is in full force in this episode, lacing everything with folklore and such that has little or no basis in the actual reports or experiences of the team. It ramps up the team hysteria from the get go, which is always a factor in such locations. It definitely felt like the team was on edge from the start.
