Story: Reunion starts when Ellie (Draper) a pregnant woman returns home to help her estranged mother Ivy (Ormond) and wheelchair bound father Jack (Bach) deal with the family home after her grandparents deaths.
As Ellie spends more time in the home, she starts to have the memories of her sister Cara (Keane), believing she is getting visited by her, with the unlikely family reunion being filled with the terror from the family’s previous activities.
Thoughts on Reunion
Thoughts – Reunion is a horror thriller that will see a young pregnant woman needing to return him to help with the clean of a family home before it is sold, only for her to learn more about her past. What does start out like a routine idea, takes a turn into the strange as we see just how many secrets were being held within the walls. The story is filled with a tension, that comes from the unease we get to feel around the home, with the flashbacks filling in the blanks, as Ellie starts to piece together her past. The performances in the film are strong with Julia Ormond and Emma Draper taking center stage throughout the film. The film does keep to the one location, the family home, it does feel like a character of its own in the film, just because of the history that has happened there.
Final Thoughts – Reunion is a slow burning horror thriller that takes a dramatic turn to try and make a bigger impact.
