Story: Restless starts when Nicky (Marshal) tries to hold her life together after her parents’ passing. Her job is demanding, and her son is at university. However, she gets a new neighbour, Deano (McAuley), who spends all day blaring music and keeping her up all night.
She tries to deal with things calmly, but Deano refuses to back down. Nicky’s calm life is thrown upside down as she can’t cope with the changes, leading her to make drastic decisions.
Verdict on Restless
Recap
The movie follows middle-aged woman who lives a calm life until she gets a new neighbor from hell. They disrupt her sleep by playing music all night and any attempts to discuss the matters leads to her being pushed away. However, it is driving her crazy and leaves her questioning how far she could go.
Best Parts
Lyndsey Marshal is fantastic in the leading role, she shows us how much her life is turned upside down. The battle she goes through is frustrating to watch, as nobody will help her. It does an amazing job of showing us how people can be driven to crazy things to have calm back in their lives.
Worst Parts
I mentioned how frustrating the lack of support offered is. It does pose the question of why the police didn’t do anything why the council didn’t try to support her, and it shows how little people care about a lone woman living alone.
Final Thoughts –Restless is a great drama with a powerhouse performance.
