My sister Colby and I are so sad to let our friends and family know that our beautiful mother Mary Jane passed away this morning. As many of you know, she suffered from Alzheimer's disease for the last several years. She died in her sleep this morning with Colby, my father, and me at her bedside. In a final act of love and tenderness reminiscent of how she lived her life, she responded to a kiss from my father by trying to kiss him back. I speak for all three of us when I say that my mother was the kindest and most beautiful woman we have ever known, and we will keep her in our hearts forever. We would like to thank all of our friends and family for the love, prayers, and support that you have shown us throughout her disease, and most especially over the last couple of days. We are truly blessed to have you in our lives.
Many of you will receive an email message from my father, but for those who don't, we expect to hold visiting hours on Friday, June 27 in the late afternoon at the John Lawrence funeral home in Marstons Mills on the Cape. There will also be a private celebration of her life to follow this summer.
