Resource Center is the primary LGBTQ and HIV/AIDS service organization in North Texas and operates one of the largest LGBT community centers in the United States. Established in 1983 with a goal of achieving recognition and equal rights for gays and lesbians in North Texas, the Center quickly mobilized to deal with the HIV/AIDS epidemic, becoming a source for community awareness, prevention education, emergency support and services. The Center is home to a variety of community organizations and serve over 60,000 people each year through its HIV client services and programs supporting the LGBTQ community. A staff of more than 50 members is supported by over 1,000 dedicated volunteers. The event held at Seven for Parties in the Dallas Design District raised over $40,000 to benefit the programs and services of Resource Center. Donations can still be made online to help support the over 60,000 clients served in the community annually by the Center by visiting www.myresourcecenter.org/give.
