Resolutions

It’s the end of the year, and for some of us, time to start making our resolutions. I never used to have much resolutions because I feel like if you want to change something in your life, you should just change it, you don’t need a special date for it. However, coincidentally I’m at a point where I do want to make a few changes so I made some resolutions for the new year..

(Above a picture from this morning wearing ASOS jumper and Cheap Monday jeans)

1. Make a list of things that I like to do, and to at least one of those things every day.
Every day? Yes, because the list contains anything from ‘cooking with friends’ to ‘drinking tea with blueberry cupcake flavor’. Happiness is in the little things and writing down a list with small and bigger things that make you happy, and doing one of them each day is a good way to bring little moments of joy into your life. You don’t have to ‘need to do it’, but it’s a great little bonus to your overall happiness – in the fast life we’re living nowadays I find it a great thing to be aware of what makes me happy and if I’m still doing those things. I’ve been practicing this one for 2 weeks now and it works really well!

2. Get a new camera and bring it (far) more often.
I’ve been thinking about getting a more compact high quality camera that fits into my bag better than my huge and heavy DSLR – which works great for outfit pictures but I hardly ever bring it with me in my ‘daily life’ because it’s too big and heavy. I’d love to invest in a more compact high quality camera which I’d like to use to snap more of my daily life, and share with you guys of course.

3. Eat better.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m really anti-diet and don’t start with me about Paleo if you’re coming to dinner at my place. Although I understand other peoples opinions, for me personally it works best to use your brains when eating (a lot of us don’t need a diet to tell us what’s good for us and what not) and listen to your  body. However, I’ve been putting a little to much fast food into my body in the past few very busy months, blaming being busy and not feeling like cooking, but I kind of miss making dinner and I could use a vitamin or two extra. Is this a ‘no more junkfood’ resolution? Definitely not, when I crave a chili cheese burger, I will get it. But I look forward to start cooking a bit more again and not have cup noodles for lunch for 5 days in a row. Shouldn’t be that hard (never make resolutions too hard, that’s why I don’t believe in diets as well, you can’t do that your whole life).

4. Find a new everyday bag.
It’s been a while (over a year) since I got my last designer bag. Now, when I get I need a new bag, it obviously doesn’t HAVE to be a designer bag, but I’m looking for a high quality one, one that I will keep forever, will wear every day and completely fall in love with. I have yet to experience that with a bag coming from the high street..
My Alexander Wang bag (this one) has done it’s job really well for over 2 years now and it was the only bag a wore for a long time. I still use it but I’ve been looking for a good second everyday bag for a year now. I haven’t found it yet, which partly has to do with the fact that I’m really really picky when it comes to designer bags (considering the price as well, it needs to be absolutely perfect) but it also has to do with me, because I haven’t been searching that hard. Not hard at all actually. So that will be a fun thing to do in January!

That’s it! When it comes to resolutions, don’t make too much of them and make sure that they are achievable. Don’t be too hard on yourself, make fun ones as well! Do you have any new year’s resolutions?
