Today I went to a selection day for a volunteering project abroad for young people. It was so exciting, just to be involved in something that is aimed at engaging young people in developing countries. IF I get the placement I will be helping inform them about HIV/AIDS, environmental issues and community development. I am so keen to be able to put the skills and knowledge I have learnt at University into practice. I didn't study Human Rights Law for fun, I studied it because I want to do something - I want to help people. Everyone has their own goals in life and their own ways of helping others. But I really feel like this is my 'calling' (if you don't mind me putting a cheesy spin on it.) Needless to say I'll be gutted if I don't get onto the program.
