Verdict on Rerouting
Recap
The movie follows a rideshare driver whose passengers go missing. He becomes the prime suspect but must figure out how to clear his name. Meanwhile, the real killer continues to hunt for their victims, using the ride share as cover.
Best Parts
The concept is disturbing, because we know how easily people use the modern rideshare ideas. There are some terrifying moments the victims go through too.
Worst Parts
Despite its interesting and disturbing concept, it never feels intense. The story makes everyone look guilty and doesn’t give the cop any credit for solving the crime. Finally, it looks more like a passion project of a nice idea for a script, ready for an extra layer off paint to polish off the idea.
Final Thoughts – Rerouting doesn’t hit as hard as the concept presents.
