Remembering Sean Connery’s Most Famous Movie Roles

His name was Connery, Sean connery.

The Scottish actor, Oscar winner and film icon has died aged 90, his family announced on Saturday (October 31st).

Connery was best known for creating the role of James Bond on the big screen. The actor has portrayed the British Secret Service agent seven times, but not consecutively. He made his debut as a character in the very first James Bond film, Dr No, released in 1962.

After five films, including the following From Russia with love, The golden finger, Thunderball, and You only live twice, he left the franchise, declaring that he had sworn to never play Bond again.

He changed his mind and took over the role of the seventh film in the series, Diamonds are forever, and in the '80s when he starred in what many fans consider a standalone film in the franchise, Never say never. An adaptation of the previous 007 film Thunderball, the film was considered an "unofficial" Bond film because it was not produced by EON Productions, the company behind the predecessors.
