I admit that his HEADLINE GRABBING TITLE (one of my first posts on this blog, back in 2004) is a Catholic-based polemic but it relates to my disgust and dissatisfaction with all the religions of our troubled planet. Now, the majority of you know that I am no great religious advocate and it is with this proviso that I advise caution towards the following blogpost.
WARNING: INFLAMMATORY RELIGIOUS CONTENT
This is the only way I can put it across.
I have to pre-warn you that the things I am about to write are not anti-any-specifc-religion.
They are not anti-catholic, anti-protestant, anti-muslim, anti-semetic, anti-fundamentalist, anti-orthodox, anti-taoist, anti-you-name-your-god-system. They are more generally anti-all-religion.
It is time to dispense with these archaic and historically localised moral-rule-based systems of social control and tribal upbringing.
The planet is becoming too small for Religion. I'm talking about any religion where a devotee (you) worships a god (it). Remember, I am and will always be an advocate for NO GOD, NO HEAVEN, NO SALVATION, NO AFTERLIFE, NO HELL, NO JUDGEMENT DAY, NOTHING AFTER DEATH BUT ROTTING FLESH AND FADING PHOTOGRAPHS.
"Since time immemorial, God sent prophets after prophets, messages after messages --- dating from Noah to Abraham, Moses, Jesus (Peace be upon them) and culminating with the seal of them all, Muhammad (Peace be upon him)..." that is a lineage through Christianity to Islam outlined for all to read on an Islamic Education site on the internet. The problem with this is that it sets a branch of people who are BETTER than others. It shows a list of humans who are closer to God. Indeed it implies that some people are actually in touch with God and sharing God's word through the relationship.
Have any of you ever attended a multi-lingual multi-cultural debate, like they have at the United Nations, say? In such a situation there are trained interpreters schooled in the nuances of the received language they are translating into the translated tongue. These are (I have to stress this) highly trained practitioners of the limited series of grammatical and vocabulary standards - and even they get it wrong some times. Why? Well, because they are humans and humans aren't always able to fully interpret (with all the meaning, subtlety and posturing intact) between the different races of our planet. Think how many times more difficult the job of interpretion between a great being like a God and the human race might be. Sure, he can be DIRECTLY CHANNELED THROUGH as it were, he can accurately write down the word of God. Let's give the power of our God some credit, eh Mike, he did after all make the Heavens and the Earth and all structures inbetween and around.
But it's all a case of interpretation.
As you move you consciousness through history you will find very easily rationalised interpretations of these supposed words of God. Not all of them have been useful to the populace they served. Witchcraft, hand dismemberment, burnings at the stake, Holy War have all come about through 'interpretation of these texts'.
The Bible and other 'religious documents' are interpreted texts, by their interpretation for each new religious cause they become the word of man, propaganda of the church. Why are religions practised still? To control the populace of a country, a population is its collective mind. Religions are drummed into the children so that they cannot even question anything. They KNOW that God is real. They BELIEVE in the afterlife. They have FAITH in heavenly salvation. That word faith is the great stumbling block. It also forms the weakpoint of my argument. For I myself have faith that there are no Gods, and by definition there should be no religion other than THE LOVE AND MUTUAL RESPECT OF OUR FELLOW MAN, OUR FELLOW LIFEFORMS on this delicate homeworld.
Religions are so brand new to this planet, they only came about over the last 20,000 years or so through fearful paganism and into blatant political iconism. They still profess to administer supposed moral guidelines to the value of life under God's gaze. But look back at this historical God - he was a butcherer of infants, he was a burner of forests, a mountain of anger. There was nothing of love about him. He was all about retribution and toeing the party line, comply or be damned.
I am speaking of religion as a recovering catholic. In the catholic religion we are taught to HATE and nothing more. Catholics were taught to hate the protestants and everybody hates the Church of Englanders. Hardly a loving charitable sitaution, as evidenced by the continuing trouble around the world. Look at the Arab Spring and the threat of wars across the Arab Territories and WORLDWIDE.
By following the LAWS of religion, as they are preached today, we are going against the wishes of those prophets who advocated LOVE to all man. Instead, we are waging a war against the infidel or renouncing Satan or any other manner of silly things. Religion has divided us and conquered our loving spirit - we believe in the bogeyman, as proscribed by Global Governance. It is time for mankind to GROW UP as a planetary inhabitant, stop being a baby, a trembling snivelling toddler worried by a shadow, stop being paranoid slave of a Corporate War Media Machine. There is no more proof of God than there are patients in a psycho ward. Each of those social outcasts has their own credo (as I have, those unmoveable devotees could argue) and each of these SHOULD be considered an as-valuable chapter from the book of the word of God. Who out there can classify the more worthy proclamation, for isn't that judging God? Who are we to judge God (even I remember that from my scripture)?
This polemic isn't about judging God, it's about judging the interpretation of the (unprovable) word of god. It is about time the human race agreed to disagree on any interpretation of these holy books and simply came up with a more interesting set of global rules that governed human behavior. So this might mean NO FEMALE CIRCUMCISION, NO OSTRECISING OF WOMEN VIA RELIGIOUS PRACTICES, NO MARRIAGES (NOT EVEN HARD-FOUGHT-FOR GAY ONES), ACCOUNTABILITY OF THE TEENAGERS FOR THEIR ANTI-SOCIAL ACTIONS (THEY ARE CURRENTLY PROTECTED BY AN ARBITRARY AGE LIMIT IN MOST COUNTRIES), A TOTAL RETHINK ON OWNERSHIP AND PROPERTY AND WEALTH... the list goes on and on.
There is no Good, as there is no Evil - just an arbitrarily agreed tacit mindset of minimal options for taxation purposes and PROFIT.
Mankind has to reconcile its differences across the globe. We are no longer a tribal race. We no longer have God on our side against the enemy. Only we are our own enemy at this moment.
Inform the world about Globalism and the Fascist Enslavement of You The People.
Educate your children about ignorance and indoctrination before we discover that we have created our own REVELATION in the name of our Lord God. Learn to live, think, question, love. Above all, learn about your fellow man. He is your neighbour, not your enemy.
