REINTERPRETING THE PAST

Inspired by a trench filled with 400 years worth of cast offs and blemished items, this tableware collection by House Industries is uniquely gorgeous. The prolific type foundry collaborated with designer Kyohei Baba to create a new brand they called Monohara. The 15-piece collection combines traces of Japanese culture with House Industries' amazing typographic perspective. The  collection includes five plate options, six bowl sizes, teacups, teapots, a compra bottle and a tenugui cloth — all superbly presented in three distinct, hand-crafted Japanese Paulownia wood boxes. The Monohara collection will be available in the United States by the end of the year. Happy weekend!
