Lewis, who has been deemed the Mother of Black Hollywood is quick to speak out for injustice.  Breakout star Kiki Layne stole our hearts with her role in Barry Jenkins “If Beal Street Could Talk.” “The Hate U Give” star,  Amandla Stenberg is always using her platform to advocate for larger social causes impacting communities of color. Regina Hall has been in the game for over 20 years, and uses her platform to mentor young girls in the L.A. community.

Essence Black Women In Hollywood awards will be held February 21, 2019 at the Beverly Wilshire in Beverly Hills, CA.
