Reflection

Posted on the 05 July 2019 by Views She Writes @ViewsSheWrites

I looked into the mirror but did not see me. Instead I saw a lady with rich brown hair. My hair was black. Her hair landed softly past her collarbones. Mine was long, way past my shoulders. Her shape of eyes was very much like mine but it had brown iris. I knew mine was black. Her shape of nose and mouth was much like me but with a slight difference – it felt like looking through water.

I hated this experience every time I looked into the mirror. Since my accident and the subsequent head injury, my image of myself has changed. My image of myself in my head is that of my mom who has long since passed away. No matter how much I try to memorize my looks from the mirror, I still fail to get my mother’s image out of my head.
