I think this was the week of lots of good content this week. Sure, maybe other weeks as well, but sssshhhhhhhh we’ll keep that quiet for this morning. Here, have some good reads!
- Yeah, some have considered Miyazaki overrated. But Chris points out his importance to the anime industry (especially in the US) as a whole.
- I’m again reminded about the dirty humor in Shin-Chan. And reminded that I have yet to watch that anime.
- Simple, yet to the point post about Attack on Titan’s common sense by Mori.
- There are apparently 5 Decent Yuri Anime out there. One of the works Artemis listed, Kashimashi, is staring at me to read it at some point…
- I think Muse just went all in on why Danganronpa (The Animation) doesn’t work.
- Just the picture to what happens to Sayori in this week’s Love Lab is enough to get on my list this week. (I’m so shallow)
- I’ve now seen this on twitter, and now I see it in post form: ANIME HIPSTERS!!!
- Tying in the current manga arc along with Episode 9, EmperorJ talks about Keima and how he’s now inhabiting a zone he’s never experienced before.
- Hey, someone has to blog Kingdom 2. Yes, just a reminder that it is still going. Honest!
- Considering I just finished watching Digimon Adventure 2 (in JP. I’m also watching it in ENG), I probably need to watch Digimon Fusion just to hear Ken Ichijouji’s voice once again.
- Matt tries to sell everyone currently checking out Attack on Titan to checking out Knights of Sidonia by noting a few similarities.
- Have an interview with graphic artist and upcoming comic artist Larein. Because there are artists out there, I’m serious!
- Finally, Frog-Kun asks if watching anime makes us intelligent. Stop laughing, I’m serious!
Shameless Author Promotion Time
Of course I normally just end things there (or now recently aside from amusing tweets this is it), BUT, I’ve…ventured to some places in the past few weeks:
- One place I actually ventured last week. And apparently forgot to link to it. I wrote an article about manga publishing and how yeah, take your shots at the manga industry in the US all you like about their lack of bringing different manga over, but at least know there are reasons for this.
- I ended up getting invited to a live show a few months ago, and I ended up speaking for about an hour with Katie about anime and manga (but mostly anime) last week. It was definitely a weird experience for me, and it probably shows somewhere on the show. I’m pretty sure I said something stupid too. I’ll try to live with this embarrassment until the end of time.
- Finally, I wrote a post about anime you should be checking out, yesterday. Originally was going to be about a few anime people could get into, but after I was told I can list almost whatever, ended up suggesting a few that hopefully people can check out and get into at some point. (And as of this writing, yeah, there is an obvious error that I didn’t add to the post. This is the part where my supposed authority and knowledge goes down. And I start to cry.)
