So, how about that Pacific Rim boys and girls?

Last week, I finally ponied up the cash and ended up watching it in IMAX 3D. Let’s just say my first experience in watching 3D was not very good. This time around it was much more pleasant, and the film was pretty pleasant too. Oh, don’t mind the battle between the Kaiju and Jaegar’s, it’s not like it was all violence and such. Praise aside, people were not kidding about some of the script issues, but for me, I ended up paying $20 to see the film, and over 2 hours later, I wanted to go see it again. That feeling of watching robots vs monsters fight it out…hard to say I came away unimpressed.

Anyways, just my small musings on the film. I think you’ve come for good reads this morning, so let’s get to that!

  • Fuyuhi took some time to highlight a fan comic by an artist in Singapore that everyone can check out called Dreamwalker. Pictures and story synopsis included!
  • Tony thought it would be a perfect time to talk about Mikasa and whether her devotion to Eren is cute or creepy.
  • Marina took some time to talk more about gravedigging in Sunday Without God (or Kaminai).
  • What does passion have to do with Tari Tari? Well, Yi explains that of course!
  • Why haven’t you guys started reading Oyasumi Punpun? (more like why haven’t I???) Well, Bateszi reminds everyone you should start reading it.
  • “Justin’s in love with Riko Kurahashi’s hair,” is not something I would ever say…but this other Justin will! (Btw, go watch Love Lab if you’re not!)
  • Nadav says that unless you haven’t watched the first two seasons/read the manga, you should be watching Rozen Maiden Z. (No, go watch it anyways I say!)
  • I didn’t realize there could have been lost MegaTen games…until Kimimi pointed them out this week. Bizarre!
  • The ages old question: Will you still watch and enjoy anime as you grow older? Marow asks this of everyone!
  • Finally, and you thought I wouldn’t end this week’s Reference Resource Mondays to something that has to do with Pacific Rim, am I right? Sie Sind Das Essen Und Wir Sind Die Jäger! Hey wait a minute…
