So, two new shows launched last night. One of them was awful, the other was alright. The awful show, The Mysteries Of Laura, was sampled by 10.4 million people last night, coming off of America’s Got Talent’s finale. Red Band Society, which is a much better show, debuted to only 4 million viewers using Hell’s Kitchen as a lead in. Hells Kitchen did 3.9M, so it actually improved upon its lead in, which is important to remember when discussing renewal/cancellation. If a lead-out improves upon its lead in, or if it improves on its timeslot from the previous year, it can be renewed with so-so ratings. So, hope is not lost. But… stop watching Mysteries Of Laura (which apparently 2 million people did by 10:30PM).
