Recuperating

By Ninamorena @NinaMorenaXO
The shoe of this weekend is the dyed cork platform with linen upper by Bally between 1937 and 1940.
Yesterday was so tiring and fun at the same time, I don't know where to start.
My eyes opened around eight in the morning, thanks to my dad's booming voice. I knew I was supposed to be getting ready, I was going to be late, but I didn't care. I rolled over for another forty minutes and dove back into Neverland. When I did wake up again, I found it odd that no one thought to warn me how little time there was to rush out the door. I had to make it to the ceremony of my younger cousin's confirmation. I didn't really want to go, but the nice person in me said I should make some kind of appearance.
Outfit #1: Where? Last seat in the church. What was it? Polka-dotted top and back pants, already put together last summer in Toronto. (I didn't have time to come up with anything better.)
I was never so bored in my life. I am not a religious person. While a priest/bishop/reverend/whatever spoke about some weird journey into enlightenment for an hour, I kept wishing someone's phone would ring and Judas or S&M would be their ringtone, just to see his reaction. Then he started asking the children who were to be confirmed a series of questions. The first: "Do you reject Satan, and all his lies and empty promises?" The kids were expected to look straight forward and answer, "I do."
I don't remember it being like that when I had my confirmation. It was like a cult in there. But I passed the time by replaying Judas is my head the whole time. How can someone reject Satan if they're in love with Judas? Just pointing that out...
An hour an a half later, it was finally over. I was hungry, I had a headache and it was raining nonstop on the way to the car. I will never do that to myself again.
Lots of food and warm pajamas later, my headache still wasn't gone. I couldn't nap either. Atesol was the answer. Then I had to prepare again to pop in at my cousin's house to take some pictures for a few minutes. But I had my escape planned: Olivia's sweet sixteen.
Olivia's house is like a cozy shelter. Once you're in, you won't want to leave. After all the party guests arrived, we got into one of the three vans provided to get to the restaurant. I don't remember the last time so much food was in front of me.
Her parents surprised her with a huge Harry Potter cake. It was too perfect to eat, but of course that feeling didn't last very long.
We were like a friendly Tumblr family, some of us meeting each other in person for the first time. I don't remember if I told you, but Jean Paul Gaultier will be signing autographs at Holt Renfrew in Montreal on June 11th, from two to four pm. (Highlight of my year.)
After the food was over, most of the guests were too tired to go back to Olivia's because it was almost midnight. Another girl was sleeping there, and I tagged along as well for about an hour. All we did was move our full bellies to the couch and flip channels. We went from watching Jessie J and B.O.B perform Price Tag on SNL to catching some parts of Pineapple Express. It was the perfect night. I got home and slept for at least eight an a half hours, now I'm starting to feel better.
I wore the H&M sandals I've been coveting for weeks prior to yesterday, black flared jeans from Simons (skinny ones weren't right this time around) and a frilly white lace top (for which I got some odd looks from my older relatives).
School isn't quite over yet, although there is a mere eight days left of classes. Just in case you've been wondering, I'll let you know what's coming up, as soon as I have more time.
