Ready for It

By Winyeemichelle
How could I resist sharing an outfit during Taylor Swift new release period without including an appropriate title?
For old times’ sake, it just had to be done. Daisybutter saw its’ humble beginnings with meticulously thought-out T.S. song names as titles alongside not-so meticulously thought-out outfits, Primark skater dresses with rolled down socks and lace-up boots in that utterly non-cohesive way that so many blogs found their footing. Gosh how I miss those days! But how much I also love the way that blogging has carved a wonderful niche (yes, it remains a niche) for boss lady writers and photographers and creatives and good eggs to create bona fide careers for themselves. I don’t think anyone of us were ready by a single jot for the magic that ebbs and flows through the blogosphere these days. As much as we may complain about followers and unfollowers, algorithms and naysayers, it’s a pretty special thing to be part of. I’m asked constantly when I’ll stop with this ‘thing’ but I don’t think I ever shall. I just adore it.
I smiled at myself the other evening when I read and replied to my blog comments and spotted a few readers complimenting me on my organisation skills and how I seemed to have it so together. But really, when it comes to the concept of being ‘ready for it’, I think I must still be making things up as I go! To-do lists and planning can only take you so far and I’m not entirely sure that any of us are ready for ‘it’, whatever that is. I can’t quite remember the last time I felt ready for my future. I couldn’t tell you where I’ll be in 5 years. I couldn’t even tell you where I’ll be in a month. This year I’ve really struggled with my career path of choice and I’ve spent roughly 80% of my spare time convincing my family that, actually, this is a proper job, it is a real job. I signed off with a client on Monday afternoon that finally led me to tick off a New Year’s resolution, meaning that I’ve hit full client capacity and my earnings goal of the year! Hallelujah. It’s been wild, 8-and-a-bit-months-of-2017.
In fact, now that I consider whether or not I’m ‘ready for it’, I think I am. I’m ready to embrace the hustle even more so than before. I’m ready to pursue my fitness goals with all my might and new hand weights. I’m ready to pick out a home and kitchen organisation and our three cats with Harvey and I’m ready to loosen the reins on routines and see where life may take us all when we just take a deep breath once in a while and let things run their course as they wish.
Are you ready for it?
