…read. watch. listen.

...ah...simpler times...

Do you ever find yourself wishing that you had more things to click on Facebook?

Do you waste away afternoons simply “like”-ing your “friends” posts?

Well have I got some good news for you!

No.  They’re not adding a dislike button.  If you want to be negative you at least have to put forth the effort of typing the “dislike” in the comment box meanie.

This announcement is much more indifferent.

Rumor has it that Facebook will be unveiling, not one, but three new buttons for you to click.  Because if there’s one thing we all need it’s more clicking options on Facebook.

The buttons will (reportedly) read: “read,” “watched,” and “listened.”  I leave it to you to interpret their meaning.

My advice to you–steer clear.  This is obvious fodder for Facebook friendship death.

Sure, it may seem innocent enough, clicking that you read your friend’s post.  Seems like a nice thing to do, but wait, why didn’t you “like” the post?

Was it not worthy of a second click?  Were you too busy moving on to a more “like”-able post?

Of course the obvious solution would be to “like” everything that you “read.”  But you don’t want to get the reputation for being loose with your “like”s.  Don’t go giving them away for just any video with cute kitty.  They lose their significance.

It’s a slippery slope my friend.  You could just shun the button clicking all together, but no one likes a stingy button pusher.

So as we enter this brave new world of multiple buttons, tread carefully, your Facebook reputation is at stake.  Don’t go pushing anyone’s buttons…
