Read All About It – News Update

Icy Weather

Icy Weather in January 2009

It’s snowing outside, and the air is bitterly cold.  By all reports, most of Britain is caught in this wintry weather.  Theoretically, it should be an ideal time to wrap up warm and stay cosy indoors, to read and write and drive the cold away.  Of course, nothing’s quite that simple.  It’s kind of difficult to summon up any eagerness to use the keyboard when your fingers are freezing!  There are times when I miss childhood – when the cold was not noticed so much. especially when there was snow around.  Still, all of this is beside the point…

The Thief Series

Last night, I completed a new short story in the series.  I just have to check it for errors and then I’ll be able to publish it, through Smashwords again.  It’s called The Guild and relates the events of Prince Tirnam’s past as a thief catching up with him.  It remains to be seen whether there will be any further stories in the series.

The Novel

It’s been a while since I said much about my novel.  I thought I was ready to return to it, but recent events and problems brought it to a grinding, squealing halt again, before it had gone more than a few paragraphs.  I hate this lack of progress and, in all honesty, the short stories are not as satisfying to work on.  Perhaps that’s why the Thief series was born – I needed something that didn’t end so soon.  For now, I can only hope that I can return to the novel before much longer.

Book Reviews and My A to Z of Favourite Authors*

You may have noticed that the number of book reviews is increasing.  I’ve also added more of my favorite authors.  Check the appropriate menu tabs for details of all that are available.

Author Interviews*

I’ve had great fun presenting author interviews, recently.  There will be another on Wednesday (two days from now), featuring the author Robin Leigh Morgan, writer of I Kissed a Ghost.  Hopefully, more will follow.

(* If you’re an author and would like to be featured in the future, please use the contact form on this site.)

Health Progress

Things do seem to be improving again, so I’m hoping that the end of this latest bout of pancreatitis is nearing its end.  If that’s the case, perhaps I’ll be able to focus better and start blogging normally again.  I’d keep my fingers crossed but I’m afraid that they’d get stuck.

It’s stopped snowing now but, if anything, feels even colder.  Numb fingers do nothing for the ability to type!
