There are a few denim brands that have become staples in my wardrobe as I'm sure is the case for most of you but as with anyone who loves discovering new things, I was happy to be introduced to this "anti-casual" denim brand called Raven Denim. Known mainly for their very flattering, signature wide bootleg denim trouser, the Mackenzie, and heralded by designer Ya-el Torbati, Raven Denim brings a refreshing and upscale take on denim. In addition to the popularity of the Mackenzie trouser, the Remy skinny, Sadie Kick straight-leg, and Mackie slim-boot trouser have also become signatures in the line. For Fall 2012, we see lots of richly colored corduroy (trousers and jeans) in varying silhouettes.
One of my favorites from Raven Denim is actually anything with their Arrows print (see above). This print while doesn't compete with or overpower the styles, giving them a cool and fresh look. Other exciting news for Raven Denim is their collaboration with designer Stephen Burrows - a first foray into denim for Burrows in a long time and a first collaboration for Raven Denim.
Featuring Burrows' trademark red stitching, the denim collection, inspired by Burrows' muses, featured highwaisted short shorts and skinny bottoms in both bold prints, dark blues and black and is set to retail between $165.00 to $218.00.
