I am occasionally asked to promote brand products and years ago I used to covet those gigs and got paid well for developing recipes with specific brands but I also learned that I was not cut out for having a dozen bosses. I was recently approached about two products that worked in perfect harmony for this Raspberry Lemonade Wine and Sorbet Cocktail.

I've combined Prosecco and sherbet before but this time around I had received cans of a delicious Raspberry Lemonade with a Sparkling White Wine combined together and sold in cans. The alcohol content is low at 5% so for some friends combining the Round Barn product with sherbet would have been enough but the extra oomph of vodka made for a real cocktail.

I made two of the cocktails and shared one with a neighbor. It was 10:30am on a Saturday morning...why not right? If you can mimosa or bloody Mary in the morning then you can do one of these Raspberry Lemonade Wine Sorbet Cocktails in the morning as well! This is really a light and delicious dessert cocktail; might be my new summertime fave!

Round Barn is located in Michigan with a couple of different locations; I only wish they were closer to Colorado. While they do have some product in a couple of states, ordering from the winery was what I chose to do when I needed more of my new summer favorite. Now if only they would actually come to Colorado...pretty please?

In addition to the Raspberry Lemonade I had recently been asked to review a set of unique martini glasses. One of the main draws for me was that they were stemless; I have so many regular martini glasses that more would have been simply too redundant. But the beauty of these glasses made with Dragon Double Wall DragonGlass™ is that double wall construction

I thought that making a cocktail that had sherbet in it would be a good test to see if it kept the cocktail colder and they passed with flying colors. I did put the glasses in the freezer for about 15 minutes before I mixed the cocktail to insure that the glass and the air between the two walls was cold and it worked perfectly.

We drank our cocktails, we chatted a bit on my porch, with the appropriate social distancing of course, and when we were done we had to use spoons to finish the sherbet; that was the perfect finish. The fact that your hands are never actually touching the glass that holds the liquid is so important. Warming a glass with 98.5 degree hands does not make for keeping it cold, that's for sure.

These two products were really perfect together for this cocktail. It's light, refreshing, and kept perfectly cold in the specialty glassware. I think I need more than two of them (and that's coming from someone who always swear 'NO MORE GLASSES!'

Can I share a little secret? While I felt Raspberry Sherbet would be perfect for this drink; I had one heck of a time getting it. I made two different grocery orders for delivery and each time they substituted Mango Sorbet for my requested Raspberry? What?? I called the store and was told this was in the system as a suggested sub for those picking groceries if the raspberry was not in stock.

Ah...I did share with them that I had a feeling I was not the only person who might expect Raspberry who got Mango who would be disappointed. Sure it's sorbet but it's not the same! So I took off for a local ice cream shop; my first foray out in THREE MONTHS! I'm waiting for surgery and taking extra precautions...and it was like a mine field there.

No social distancing, no masks but on me but son of a gun...I got my sorbet and I'M ALIVE! 🙂

So while Raspberry might have been my first choice, I found a strawberry lemon was also really good. In case you need to punt too...
