50 Wyndham Street, Central District, Hong Kong. Opens 5pm-11pm. After 2 months of trialling many a ramen dish, 茶餐廳 and my other favorite traditional HK dishes - I can pop a post together if you'd like? - the other weekend I finally caved to my old London eating ways and had a go at Street Meat in Central.
Styled upon trendy NYC haunts, this little eatery had a super cool, underground vibe with at-bar seating and the tell-tale, daily menu scrawled on subway-tiled walls along with a one-pager menu and irresistibly cool staff and customers. I'd heard good things about their full menu, especially their lobster rolls and dessert (macaron ice-cream sandwich!) but what I was really there for was the ramen burger.
Oh yes.

So I ended up ordering their ramen burger - two 'buns' formed of lightly fried ramen encasing a dollop of seasoned Wagyu beef with kimchi in the middle. It was rather a lot smaller than I anticipated but nevertheless, I got involved. And it was delicious. Worth every step of the uphill walk! The burger did a good job of holding its stature but of course the juices from the meat ran through, and I just adored the combination of textures. Definitely one to head back for.

Sophia ordered their lobster roll which she described as "fresh and flavoursome", with a celery mayonnaise that I'm super excited to try next. We also ordered some signature Penhaligon's Highline cocktails to ring in our Saturday night. These were absolutely amazing.

Lightly fragranced as was to be expected, and with the best names. I'm a huge Gossip Girl obsessive (est. 2003!) and whisky lover so I opted for the Chuck Bass cocktail, a truly scintillating mix of whisky, sweet wine and citrus. While expensive, they definitely ranged on the better end of my cocktail try-out meter!
I would say Street Meat is certainly a place to treat yourself to as the pricing is fairly expensive. It would make a great place to hang out with a friend as we did or even for an intimate date with loud music. There's an amazing bar and outdoor space in the back too! Not really one for larger groups as there is limited seating (:
