‘Ralph Breaks the Internet’ Opens To Much Fanfare

Ralph Breaks the Internet is one of those movies that will make you laugh, cry and want to check your computer for viruses.

‘Ralph Breaks the Internet’ Opens To Much FanfareThis movie was one of the most fun movies that I watched all year. Definitely the best-animated one. To be honest, I had not seen the first movie until just a few days before I went to see it, on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, so I did not have as long of a wait to see the sequel. But, based off the two movies, the second edition of the movie blows the first out of the water. Don’t get me wrong though. You definitely need to see the first to appreciate the second. Otherwise, there is a lot of the storyline that you will miss out on. Because, unlike other movies, this one doesn’t give you a background story to go on. There is nothing there to catch you up on how things came to be.

So, when you see Ralph (voiced by John C. Reilly) and Venellope (voiced by Sarah Silverman) begin their adventures into the internet, you will need to know exactly how they became such good friends and remained that way for the last several years. This PG animated movie takes the two friends through a series of adventures as they search out the part that is missing from Venellope’s game. While there, they meet a lot of interesting characters including Yess (Taraji P. Henson), Shank (Gal Gadot), and a whole host of Disney Princesses, because let’s not forget that Venellope is a princess in her own right no matter how much she tries to downplay it.

The best part of the movie is when the internet breaks down because Ralph makes a mistake. Let’s face it, it’s funny because of the timing. My kids, as well as a few others in the theater, all made the connection to the fact that YouTube had a breakdown just a few weeks before the movie released. My children also loved how the movie started with the video conference that wasn’t, so very reminiscent of late night television. Plus, don’t forget to stay through the credits. You don’t want to miss out on all the little extras.

Overall, the movie was a resounding 5 stars from the whole family with some desperate pleas to add another star just for this movie. You will not be disappointed by seeing this movie, or owning it when it comes out on DVD (estimated to be released in February of 2019). This is definitely one to watch over the holiday season.

Did you see Ralph Wrecks the Internet? What did you think? Better than the first? Let me know in the comments. And tell me what other movies you are looking forward to during this holiday season.
